Last days of 7days

Dude, the LeakyCon conference was amazing AH.MAZ.ING. and crazy and busy and exhausting and exhilarating and the absolute greatest. I'm going to work on getting caught up with posts this week and show as many photos as possible. I'm so glad I have this second half of vacation to recover from my first half.

Day 5

me - I made snitch ornaments and boxed a few up for my friends that were coming up for LeakyCon.


Carus - her nails all done up for LeakyCon.


Day 6

me - Got home after a very long first day at LeakyCon and Robert gave me my birthday present cause he sucks at waiting for the actual day. I'm okay with this, mostly. (I get presents early so yay, but don't get presents on my birthday so boo.)


Carus -  Carus meeting Professor Snape (Vladimir Snape) for the first time of the weekend.  (Not Alan Rickman, who plays Snape in the movies, but a rather convincing doppelganger and good Snape impersonator.)


Day 7

me - Oops, I blinked.


Photo the result of me screwing around after drinking most of my birthday drink, a blue Hawaiian. (No, I was not drunk, or even tipsy. I was feeling good and happy and goofy.)


Carus - Seen at LeakyCon.  Those people are AWESOME! There were a few of these post-its of "Peeves wuz here" posted throughout the convention center where the conference was held.  Some of the other signs posted around (some for Sherlock and some for Doctor Who) were just as awesome. You'll see those later.*

Nail art and Easter

So I found a mistake in my numbering.  I forgot to count a photo and was a day off.  It was only about 2 weeks ago so not too hard to fix, and so I did.  Well, I did in my files and on Flickr. I am not worry about it here on the blog.

Saturday was my Saturday to work (at work, we have to trade off a Saturday shift). It wasn't a bad work day, however, it was a GORGEOUS spring day and it was hard to not go outside and play or work in the yard. Which is Robert did, yard work. So I got off easy, right?

Carus painted on her nails, but she has problems painting her right hand using her left hand.  She asked for help with this Harry Potter inspired nail art. She also asked for help doing the design of the wings of the snitch on her thumb.  The other nails are the house colors; Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor.

Easter was another lovely day, but there was no yard work to do.  The kids and I colored eggs had a little egg hunt.  Then Robert and I went and got a new grill to finally replace the one I set on fire back in September so we could have some proper BBQ chicken legs and thighs.  They were so good with just the right amount of grilled crispiness. I missed having a grill.  The vinegar bubbled up around the eggs while they were dying. They looked so fuzzy with bubbles.

This photo cracks me up so much. I seriously could not have planned that look on her face any better.  Carus and I were hanging out watching a girly show (Drop Dead Diva) and doing our nails.  Leia came over and sat next to Carus, Carus told her to shake and then when she gave Carus her paw, Carus filed her toe nails a bit.  I grabbed my phone as fast as I could and I just happened to catch Leia mid blink which makes it look like she is really enjoying her pawicure.*

*Pawicure was the word Adam, Carus, and I decided on to define Leia's nail treatment.

Don't look too closely, my lines aren't as straight and clean as they could/should.  I need more practice.

69:366 - Nothing exciting

We had some down time after I finished packing and laundry and etc. etc. etc. for our trip.  We would be going Saturday to Saturday to visit my family in New Mexico.  So I painted mine and Carus’s nails.

I got this lovely sparkly polish.  It made me smile every time I saw it until it finally wore off completely about 4 days later.

17:366 Nail designs

Carus's nails got designs tonight.  We have a dark blue base with two different sparkles, one pink polka dot, one red swirl, and one light blue diagonal with two dots.  I think the swirl was the hardest to do.
